    Simplifies routes thereby facilitating transferring and encouraging bus usage

     Fills gaps in service in East Flatbush and Borough Park.

     Greatly improves access to isolated areas such as Gerritsen Beach and Canarsie.

    Provides two new airport services, one local and one limited stop, enabling a good portion of Brooklyn one or two bus access to JFK Airport

    No significant additional route mileage (excluding airport services).

    Greatly improves service to all major Hospitals especially Maimonides and Kings County.

     Can be implemented in stages.

     Provides alternative routings.

      Eliminates portions of lightly utilized routes and strengthens weak routes without significantly increasing route mileage increasing system viability.

      Eliminates unnecessary complexities in bus service created by historical accidents, thereby simplifying bus routes,

     Establishes the B49 as a back-up to the Brighton Line between Prospect Park and Sheepshead Bay during subway service disruptions.

     Improves access and increases system efficiency by eliminating duplicative bus /subway service without reducing bus service.
